S&O art collection

A small but finely curated collection of affordable art. The story is as follows: Born from a stock holders club that wanted to invest in a small piece of a Bacon painting ( 1mm2). We decided to buy some art at auctions and from artists directly instead. We thought it the best way to enjoy art and it has proven to habe been the right path to follow.

SInce we have build a small collection of excellent art. To expand and refund the collection all art presented is for sale. Prices listed exclude shipping.

This is how we build our collections:

We have discovered that there is a 30 year period that artprices rise and decline. Where at first an artists sets a price , this price is raised by a gallery who takes from this price at least 40 to 50% to cover expenses. Galleries close or do not support an artist any longer and than, after some 10 to 15 years, price levels drop. The worst scenario for an artist is when a work shows up at auction. It is no longer protected by the gallery and price levels depend on the interest a work raises. This is where S&O art makes its move and makes a bid at a reasonable price level and that is the reason why works can be offered at far lower prices than the original gallery prices.

Together we now have build an expertise in Art and books. For over half a century most of us have been involved in art , art publications and collecting. Building collections for ourselves and others. Now we have joined forces and started on a small scale to build an exquisite small collection which can be enjoyed by all of us. This collection has grown and now works will become available for sale. Among them works by Toon Teeken, Frank van Hemert and Tineke Porck
